The fashion industry contributes significantly to environmental damage, with around 85% of all textiles it produces ending up in landfills. Furthermore, the fashion industry discards one in every five items without being worn even once.
Production
Kawaii Tees collaborates with on-demand suppliers, producing items only upon receiving orders to prevent textile waste from overproduction. Our printing partner employs high-quality printing tech that generates almost no wastewaters and uses less energy than standard industry printers.
Our catalog features products made on-demand. Once you place an order, we specifically produce it for you, allowing us to avoid overproduction and textile waste while continually working toward greener production.
Printing Tech and Materials
We fulfill clothing designs using various methods, with many products printed using the direct-to-garment (DTG) technique. Kornit printers, which we use, generate minimal wastewater and use less energy than standard industry printers, reducing our carbon footprint.
The inks we use are Oeko-Tex™ certified, vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals. To adhere to sustainability standards, Kawaii Tees ensures proper disposal of any leftover ink according to the supplier’s guidelines.
Embroidery
At Kawaii Tees, we create embroidered products using Oeko-Tex™ certified threads, ensuring they are safe for both adult and children’s clothing.
Eco-friendly Product Materials
In our current eco-friendly product collection, items are made of at least 70% organic or recycled materials, or a combination of these materials.
Production Times
Each product in our catalog is made-on-demand. Once you place an order, we initiate production to deliver it to you. Although it takes time to create and dispatch the product, our on-demand approach helps us avoid overproduction and contribute to environmental sustainability.
Product Packaging
Kawaii Tees packs all apparel products in post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic mailers. The PCR content varies depending on the order’s printing location, but it’s at least 50% for outer poly mailer bags and at least 30% for inner clear bags used in multi-item shipments. PCR packaging, made from used plastic bags and bottles, offers the same protection as regular plastic bags but reduces the environmental impact.
